A practical way to print multiple PDF pages per sheet

PDF-Compact handles the everyday printing job that is too repetitive for manual printer settings. Choose a PDF, select a 2-page, 4-page, or 9-page layout, inspect the generated sheets, and download a new print-ready document. It works well for lecture slides, class notes, reports, checklists, and reference material.

Because the tool creates a new PDF before printing, the result is independent of a particular browser or printer dialog. You can review the compact version, keep it for later, or share the same prepared file with a classmate or coworker.

Choose a layout for the way you will read

Use 2 pages per sheet when text size matters, 4 pages per sheet for a balanced study or meeting handout, and 9 pages per sheet for slide overviews and visual reference sheets. The best option depends on the density of the source document and the paper size you plan to use.

A deck with large headings may remain clear at nine-up, while a text-heavy report may need two-up. The live preview makes that tradeoff visible before you print, so you can switch layouts without creating temporary URLs or leaving the page.

Trim margins without distorting the page

Exported slides and scanned handouts often contain large blank borders. Auto-Trim Margins detects those areas before arranging the pages, allowing the useful content to occupy more of each cell. You can also add a small gap between cells and keep a cover page on its own sheet.

Always check documents with notes, page numbers, or marks close to an edge. If trimming removes something important, disable the option and rebuild the preview. The original PDF is never modified.

Private browser-based PDF processing

The core conversion runs locally in your browser. Your source document is not uploaded to PDF-Compact for processing, and the temporary Blob URL used by the preview remains on your device. This makes the workflow suitable for school material, personal notes, internal drafts, and other documents you would rather not send to a conversion server.

The page loads the PDF processing libraries only after you choose a file. Processing time depends on the page count, scanned images, and the available memory on your device. Keep the tab open while the preview is being built, then download the result if you want to keep it after closing the page.
